Anthony Boyce
A degree qualified architectural technologist by background, Anthony has learned his trade working within Architecture, Planning Consultancy, Building Surveying & Structural Engineering practices over his 20+ year property career, helping on projects including large land remediation sites, housing developments, barn conversions, domestic extension & refurbishments, new builds, listed buildings, scheduled monuments, conversions, commercial & retail schemes, before jumping into property investment & development for himself - his new passion. This broad experience from working on many weird and wonderful things means there aren’t many areas he hasn’t touched in the industry, giving you the opportunity to add this knowledge to the power team on your property schemes too.
The past 3 years he’s been busy converting a Grade II listed church into holiday let apartments, converting a mixed-use commercial to residential scheme, erecting a high-end new build home, and tinkering with a monster 100 acre+ holiday / lodge park scheme.
Soon to be Chartered Architect, Grant, was Anthony’s first team member when growing the business. Grant is the backbone of everything property design at 81 North. Over his years working alongside Anthony, Grant has developed a real eye for design and detailing, and loves a good HMO, residential barn or commercial conversion scheme. The challenge of making spaces work within an existing structure while retaining existing openings is his equivalent of a good sudoku puzzle. He does these schemes for fun and to relax on a weekend!
Coupled with his knowledge of buildings, design & current regulations, Grant is 81 North’s resident CGI wizard, having had his work featured in the rendering engine developer’s case studies highlighting their software’s capabilities. If you’re struggling to imagine a project’s end results, Grant is the man to chat to about getting visualisations carried out to help you picture the finished article.
A real asset to our company, which in turn means he will be a real asset to your development or building project too. Rebecca has worked on a wide variety of schemes since qualifying as a designer, having helped the likes of Middlesbrough Football Club, Blackwell Grange Hotel, and many other domestic, commercial, holiday home, restaurant and retail clients create amazing spaces in which to stay, entertain, live, eat and spend money!
With a real eye for detail and nailing a thorough specification, she completely buys into our ethos of “Starting with the end in mind”. She has the supernatural power to visualise how you want your development to look long before you have even set foot on the construction site, providing everything needed to ensure a painless, budget friendly & amazing end product.

With a heart of gold and personality to match, Daphne is charge of all the good that happens here at 81 North HQ. Only working part-time at present, but sorely missed when she isn’t around, Daphne keeps the wheels turning on all your projects by herding the cats behind the scenes, chasing those elusive planners, ensuring timelines & deadlines are met, and keeping everyone updated on progress throughout their build project.
Another gem of a team member we couldn’t be without, Daphne will no doubt brighten your day like she does ours when you call or visit our HQ in Darlington.
